August 3 and on the Holly Springs Salamanders pitcher’s mound is Franklin Floyd preparing to throw out the honorary 1st pitch of the game. There he stood all of 3 feet tall, all eyes fixed on Franklin as the Holly Springs Salamander’s pitcher and mascot prepared for his throw, a perfect strike. A perfect strike even though the ball was really wide of the pitcher and Salamander’s mascot, but a perfect strike in the eyes of all who were in attendance by the simple fact Franklin was on the mount to even throw the ball.

In May 2011, Franklin Floyd was the 1st Recipient of a Meg’s Smile. August 3, 2015 Franklin Floyd threw the Honorary 1st  Pitch of the game and everyone was wearing a big Meg’s Smile along with Franklin and his family. Thank you Meg’s Smile Foundation for enabling it to happen; thanks Holly Springs Salamanders for caring!
